TQQQ Grid + 0DTE
Capital efficiency hybrid — no idle money
The Idea
The TQQQ volatility scalping grid works by staging capital at 88 price levels below the current price. Until TQQQ drops to a level, that capital sits idle — earning nothing.
This strategy puts that idle capital to work in SPX/SPY/QQQ 0DTE options every day. Since 0DTE positions are fully closed by 3:45pm, the capital is always available if TQQQ drops to the next grid level.
As TQQQ falls and more grid levels fill, the 0DTE allocation automatically shrinks — all the way to zero at level 88, when every dollar is deployed in the grid.
Capital Allocation by Grid Level
| Grid Level | Grid Deployed | 0DTE Allocation |
|---|---|---|
| 0 / 88 | 0% | ~100% |
| 22 / 88 | 25% | ~75% |
| 44 / 88 | 50% | ~50% |
| 66 / 88 | 75% | ~25% |
| 88 / 88 | 100% | 0% |
Formula: 0DTE allocation = equity × (1 − currentLevel / 88)
TQQQ Scalping Grid
88-level geometric grid. Buys TQQQ at each level as price drops, sells at the next level up on the bounce. Runs continuously — each filled level stays open until closed at profit.

Full 0DTE strategy detailsWhy this structure makes sense
- Capital efficiency: A pure TQQQ grid at level 10 has 87.5% of capital doing nothing. This strategy earns on that capital every day.
- Natural hedge: VIX spikes (which hurt 0DTE iron condors) typically coincide with TQQQ falling — meaning grid capital gets deployed at the same time 0DTE is skipped anyway.
- No liquidity conflict: 0DTE positions are always closed by 3:45pm. Grid capital is never locked up when it needs to deploy.
- Auto-deleverages in drawdowns: When TQQQ falls hard, more capital goes into the grid (buying the dip), and 0DTE allocation shrinks — reducing options risk exactly when markets are stressed.
