1. Acceptance of these Terms
By creating an account, subscribing, or otherwise using StratBeacon (the "Service", operated by StratBeacon, "we", "us"), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. What StratBeacon Is
StratBeacon publishes systematic, rule-based trading strategies: their transparent logic, honest backtests, and a live paper track record as each strategy accrues history. Some tools let you enter your own cash and holdings so the Service can mechanically apply a published rule to your own numbers and show you the resulting orders - you place any trade yourself, in your own brokerage account. Some features can connect to a linked brokerage account (currently Charles Schwab) to read balances/positions or, where explicitly enabled for your account, place orders on your instruction.
3. Not Investment Advice
StratBeacon is an educational and informational tool, not an investment adviser, broker-dealer, or financial planner. Nothing on the Service - including strategy descriptions, backtests, live track records, alerts, or any output of a calculator that uses numbers you provide - is personalized investment advice or a recommendation to buy or sell any security. Every strategy is a published, mechanical rule; the Service does not exercise discretion over your money, does not know your full financial situation, and is not tailored to your individual circumstances beyond the numbers you choose to enter. You are solely responsible for your own investment decisions. Consult a licensed financial advisor before making decisions based on anything you see here.
4. Risk Disclosure
Trading securities, including leveraged and inverse ETFs, options, and other instruments discussed on the Service, involves substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for everyone. Backtested and historical results are not a guarantee of future performance. Live track records reflect a specific paper or real account under specific conditions and may not reflect what you would experience. Past performance, however presented, never guarantees future results.
5. Accounts and Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.
6. Subscriptions and Billing
Paid tiers are billed in advance on a recurring basis through our payment processor (Stripe). By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Except where required by law, fees already paid are non-refundable. We may change pricing prospectively with notice.
7. Connecting a Brokerage Account
If you choose to link a brokerage account (e.g., via Charles Schwab's OAuth login), you are granting the Service limited access under that broker's own developer terms, which govern independently of these Terms. You are responsible for complying with your broker's own terms of service. We store access tokens encrypted and never store your brokerage login credentials directly. Where an automated-execution feature is enabled for your account, any order it places is placed on your explicit instruction (e.g., toggling automation on and "arming" it), and you remain solely responsible for monitoring your account and for the consequences of any order placed, filled, or missed.
8. Self-Reported Data
Certain tools let you self-report cash, holdings, or a broker name so the Service can compute an output for you without connecting a real account. This is only as accurate as what you enter; the Service has no way to verify it and never confirms it against a real account. You are solely responsible for entering accurate information and for verifying any order before placing it with your broker.
9. Acceptable Use
You agree not to: reverse-engineer or scrape the Service beyond ordinary use; resell or redistribute Service output as your own commercial product without permission; use the Service for any unlawful purpose; or attempt to access another user's account or data without authorization.
10. Intellectual Property
The Service, its strategy methodologies, software, and content are owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual property law. You may use the Service for your own personal trading decisions; these Terms do not grant you any right to reproduce or redistribute our content or strategies commercially.
11. Disclaimers; Limitation of Liability
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT SIGNALS, BACKTESTS, OR CALCULATIONS ARE ERROR-FREE OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY TRADING LOSSES, LOST PROFITS, OR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE OR ANY TRADE YOU PLACE, WHETHER OR NOT INFORMED BY THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or any trade you place, including through a connected brokerage account.
13. Dispute Resolution
If a dispute comes up, please contact us first at contact@stratbeacon.com so we can try to resolve it directly. Any dispute that cannot be resolved that way will be handled in accordance with applicable law.
14. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, including for violation of these Terms. You may stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Material changes will be flagged on this page with an updated date.
16. Users Everywhere
StratBeacon is operated from the United States, and these Terms are intended to apply consistently to every user, wherever you are located. Where your local state or national law grants you rights that cannot be waived by agreement, those rights still apply and nothing here limits them.
